Outreach That Goes to People.
Fayette Cares has been named for a $150,000 Emergency Solutions Grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) — the largest per-agency award in its region — to fund street outreach across Fayette County: meeting people where they are, and connecting them to shelter, food, financial help, and safety.
The Award
What the ESG money does
In THDA's 2026 Emergency Solutions Grants funding matrix, Fayette Cares' $150,000 award funds street outreach in the Jackson / West Tennessee Continuum of Care (TN-507). Street outreach is the front door of the homeless-response system — it goes to people who are not coming through anyone's door.
Meeting people where they are
Outreach workers connect with people living unsheltered across Fayette County and walk with them toward services — instead of waiting for them to find an office.
Emergency help, then a plan
Emergency shelter, food, and financial assistance for households in crisis — the core services Fayette Cares has run in Fayette County for four decades.
Domestic-violence support
Intervention and safety support for victims of domestic violence — one of the most-requested services Fayette Cares provides.

The Record
Real impact, measurable results
These are Fayette Cares' own published outcome figures — the proof a funder, a partner, or a neighbor should find in one place.
[Update slot — 2026 ESG street-outreach results will be posted here as the program year runs: people contacted, shelter placements, and households stabilized.]
[Update slot — how to reach the outreach team day or night will be posted here, in the team's own words.]
